Take a Day to Discover Milan and Enjoy “LA DOLCE VITA”
Like most Italian Cities Milan is rich in history and culture and if you were to visit all the museums of Milan, one day wouldn’t be enough.

However all the main attractions and famous buildings are dotted close to the city center, meaning that in one day you will be able to walk all around the center of Milan and – even if only from outside – see all the main points of interest.
Time to dive in!
- Start your adventure at Piazza del Duomo where you can find the famous cathedral Duomo di Milano, an impressive gothic masterpiece that took several centuries to complete. Make sure to not only visit the inside but also the roof of the church from where you can get an amazing view over the roofs of Milan and see the incredible architecture (visit at sunset for the best pink and pastel colours). To not waste time queuing outside, you can book your Duomo entrance online beforehand.
- Right next to the piazza is our next stop: Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Prepare to be amazed by the architecture and decorations of Italy’s oldest shopping mall. Fun fact: on the mosaic on the floor you can find a bull. Put your heel on the bull and spin three times for good luck!
- If you enter Galleria Vittorio Emanuele from Piazza del Duomo and walk all the way through it you will arrive in Piazza della Scala, our third stop. Here you can not only find more beautiful historical buildings but also La Scala, one of the world’s most famous and important opera houses.
If you stay in Milan more than a day explore the possibility of catching an opera or ballet performance for an unforgettable experience
- For a quick lunch break you can stop by Panzerotti Luini, a typical stuffed savory pastry from Puglia which by now has become an institution in Milan. For a longer lunch, head to Rinascente Terrazza, a rooftop food hall with several options for dining&drinks with views of the Dome.
- Continuing your journey, make your way to Parco Sempione, Milan’s largest park, for a nice afternoon walk. Inside of the park you’ll also find Castello Sforzesco and Arco della Pace, two imposing must-sees when you visit Milan.
- Stop by Living Liqueurs & Delights for a coffee break or simply grab a delicious Italian gelato in one of the many gelaterie –soooo good!!!
- For your last stop today head to Brera – a small and typical Italian quarter with boutiques and lots of restaurants. If you have time, visit La Pinacoteca di Brera, the famous art academy where historically many of Italy’s artists studied.
Also, Brera is well known for its cool bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy a typical Italian Aperitivo, an early evening drink that is meant to “open the appetite” before you’re heading to dinner. It is often served with small snacks, finger foods and canapés.
- Last but not least enjoy a romantic dinner at La Brisa, a small hidden restaurant in the middle of Brera with delicious typical Italian food.
Milan with Kids

MUBA – Museo dei Bambini Milano
Muba is a lovely children’s museum with a full program of activities for kids of all ages. The museum has beautiful interactive installations, tons of colorful areas and fun/educational stations, nice workshops and features a Bistrot with an access to a large garden.
Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnologia
If your children enjoy exploring science and experiments then you cannot miss Milan’s science museum. Here you may find permanent exhibitions about air travel, naval and train transport, physics, energy, space, machinery and on top of that you can also visit a real submarine!
I Navigli – Visit Milan on the water
A peculiar, nice and particularly fun for kids is the area of Milan called “I Navigli”, where you can enjoy the canals that were typical of Milan: yes, Milan used to be a city on water, a little bit like Venice! Book one of the various Boat Tours through the Navigli District and admire scenic corners and secret courtyards.
“I Navigli” is also a very popular area for aperitivo and if you find yourself here in the early evening you will find plenty of young people celebrating the end of the work day.
